Why this book? Why now?

You don’t need me to tell you that in 2025 we boomeranged from modernity to the Middle Ages. Each new day still brings fresh horrors for scores of vulnerable folks, women being one hard-hit group among many. And we are so fed up. It’s time we no longer privately drown our sorrows but instead stand up. It’s time to march. To show unity. To seek comfort and inspiration and energy from our sisters. To lift our glasses and toast to the reckoning that is coming just as sure as the sun will rise tomorrow. That’s what When They Go Low, We Go Highball is all about. It’s a protest, a validation, a love letter to those who came before. We can all drink to that.
